Where has the summer gone?

So I am making my finishing touches on the Summer Reading and I cannot believe that this summer is coming to an end. It just seems like yesterday I was telling my friends that we need to keep in touch with each other over the summer and yet another summer has passed where I have only sent a few emails to my friends and seen them once this summer. (Sorry for the big run on sentence Ms. Roper.)
Anyways, my summer has been a blast even though I haven’t done much. I did have fun going to a surprise party for one of my friends and seeing the shock on her face when she walked into Pizza Hut and saw all of her friends sitting around the tables.  At first I thought that she was angry, but then I realized that she was just really shocked. I think that she liked the present that I got her, so I am very happy.
As for the summer reading books, all of them were at least okay except for A Farewell to Arms. It did not seem to have a good plot and there was a little too much “Do you love me?”s and “Are you sure you love me?”s for my tastes.  Huckleberry Finn was pretty good especially the last half.  The only part that I did not particularly like about Fahrenheit 451 was that they started to rip pages from the bible.  The ending of the book (i.e. the last 20 pages or so) was really good.  As for McTeague, that book was probably my favorite.  I did not really like it at first and some parts were pretty boring.  The book did keep me interested though because the plot kept twisting and it always kept me wondering “What’s going to happen next?”.

So this is my blog entry for now.  I would love to hear what others think about the books.

  1. (It wasn’t a run-on! It was grammatically correct! =)

Summer really HAS flown by too quickly. This is the second summer that I have had to drive to KSU four days a week for six weeks and I really don’t feel like I have even HAD a summer! I intend to do what I want to do next summer-NO MORE KSU CLASSES!

Hemingway’s insecurities really showed in his novel, huh?

I’m glad you liked McTeague. Some do; some don’t.

I really like your poll. (I’m going to vote myself!)

    See you next week!

  2. I was shocked. And I love your gift. I already ordered some stuff from Barnes and Nobles! McTeague was also my favorite. It kept my attention much more than the others.

  3. Oh, and I’ve already devoured a box of the candy!

    • Awesome! I’m glad you liked both of your gifts!

  4. Yeah, the summer did go by very quickly! I voted for McTeague, by the way. I really enjoyed it…
